Professional Profile
I’m a voice teacher and performing singer with over ten years of experience working with singers of all ages and experience levels. I believe every student has unique strengths and aspirations, and I love helping each person discover their own voice in a way that feels sustainable and enjoyable. With a Master of Music in Opera Performance and an active career as a professional singer, I bring both technical expertise and real-world performance experience into every lesson. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, building confidence, exploring a new style, or simply singing because you love it, my goal is to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where you can continue to develop as both a singer and musician. I stay current with the latest voice science and teaching practices through ongoing professional development and collaboration with fellow voice teachers.

Teaching Philosophy
Every student brings their own strengths, learning style, and aspirations to each lesson. Learning an instrument requires patience, dedication, and consistent practice, but it should also leave room for curiosity, creativity, and play. My goal is for students not only to develop strong musical skills but also to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of accomplishment that extends well beyond music.

As both a teacher and performer, I am committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds and identities feel safe, valued, and supported as they learn and grow.

“Rachel’s acceptance and understanding of my vocal injury and related challenges, and her patience and creativity in addressing my underlying problems, have proven her to be an exceptional voice teacher. She has been able to help me sing again comfortably at a high level. I have appreciated her level of knowledge of my vocal injury and her knowledge of voice pedagogy and repertoire which included development of many exercises tailored to my condition. It has been successful and highly rewarding for me to recover my former vocal range and stamina. As a professional singer herself, she is inspiring to everyone who hears her perform. She is enthusiastic and her love of music and singing is contagious. I am very fortunate to have her as a teacher.”
